If you have an older version, you can update the map file to 1.2 with the following updater (you may still need the next updater as well):

IMPORTANT: If you have a version before 1.1, you will need the fixed sound shuttle, as the one included in previous installers will screw up many sounds playing in 16-bit sound mode. Note that you still need this even if you grab the 1.2 updater, which only updates the map file:

Version 1.0 included a bug on one level that could affect playability. It was only available for a day, and never from this site (just from the archives), but nonetheless many people got a copy. Unfortunately, the version number in the Dissent Map file didn't get fully updated. If the version number in the Get Info window for the Dissent Map file says 1.0, you may need to update. (Or you may not.) You can check this one of two ways -- either A) open the map file with ResEdit, open the 'vers' resource, and check to see if the version number is set to 1.0.1 in some places, or B) download the updater and see if it'll work. The updater is only 540K.
